Neighbor's Rights in Islam

Neighbor's Rights in Islam

I like the beauty of a neighborhood or an area, if people do not bond with each other, if they do not share pain, then I like it very well and I like where parents and relatives treat each other. Compassion and brotherhood, love and peace, peace and security and sharing in each other's pain and suffering are taught to those who do not keep the neighbors who live in the vicinity under siege, but to protect life and property and family members. There is such a way that if it is followed, many problems can be solved and as a result a society can be formed where every other life and property, honor and dignity and the protector of the family are adopted three times. He said: By Allah! He cannot be a believer, the Companions said: O Messenger of Allah! who is that? The Prophet () said, “Whoever does not protect his neighbor from his evil deeds” (Bukhari, Vol. 4, p. 104, Hadith: 6016).

In Islam, the "neighbor" is so important that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) set the standard of a person's being a perfect believer and being good and bad as his "neighbor". Tell me such a deed by which I will enter Paradise? So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Be good. He said: How will I know that I have become virtuous? The Prophet said: Ask your “neighbors” if they call you good, then you are good, and if they say bad, then you are bad. have been blessed by the neighbors to lead a social life. The Prophet mentioned the great importance of the rights of the neighbors. It was narrated from Umm al-Momineen Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa that the Prophet said, “Gabriel Amin (A.S.) came to me so many times about the (rights) of the neighbors that I It began to be assumed that one neighbor would be declared heir (rightful) to the inheritance of another neighbor.(Sahih al-Bukhari) From this blessed hadith, infer the value and dignity of the neighbor in Shariat and how much respect is there for him? If socially we start paying the rights of our neighbors, then our society will become a model of Paradise. Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Whoever will be saved by Allah, the Most High, and on the Day of Judgment (i.e. all He who accepts faith with sincerity, he should respect his neighbors.” (Sahih Muslim)

It is known from this blessed hadith that the glory of a believer is that he respects his neighbors and protects their honor. When you make broth (soup), add some water to give it to your neighbors" (Sahih Muslim).

Rather, if you want to make curry, then add some of it so that it can be sent to the neighbors. The pure teachings of Islam do not call a person a perfect believer who sleeps with his stomach full and his "neighbors" "In the children, they were babbling because of hunger and thirst, so the saying of Mustafa, peace be upon him, is that whoever is full and his "neighbor" is hungry, he is not a believer." Being kind to neighbors is the means of completing faith, while persecuting them, causing them pain, making their lives miserable through abuse, and being entitled to loss in this world and the hereafter is tantamount to putting oneself at a loss, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, Hurt my neighbor, indeed he has hurt me, and he who hurts me has hurt Allah, and whoever quarrels with his neighbor has quarreled with me, and whoever Indeed, he fought with me, he fought with Allah (Al-Targheeb wal-Tarheeb, vol. 3, p. 286, Hadith: 3907).

Explaining the rights of a 'neighbour', the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If he is sick, visit him, if he dies, attend his funeral, if he asks for a loan, give it to him, and if he becomes defective, Cover him with a veil. Do, if he dies, attend his funeral, don't obstruct his air by building a building higher than his house without his permission, don't hurt him with the smell of curry Yes! It is correct to give him a handful of fruit, if you buy some fruit, send him some of it as a gift, and if you cannot do that, bring it to your house in secret and not to hurt the "neighbor's" children. Therefore, do not let your children go out with fruits (Sha'b al-Iman, Vol. 7, p. 83, Hadith: 9560)

In order to make the society a cradle of peace and security, if the orders of Islam regarding the "neighbors" are followed, then everyone will start to consider their honor, reputation, life and wealth as safe. It is understandable that if the neighbors have so many rights, how many rights will their own family members have? When it is not permissible to hurt the neighbors, to show their heart, how can it be permissible to stop talking to your own family members, beat them and behave immorally? There is no good behavior towards family members, and if there is good behavior towards family members, then the commandment of goodness and the prohibition of evil are abandoned and every legitimate and illegitimate request is fulfilled. It is to be given, but legitimate happiness is to be given. We pray to Allah Almighty to grant us the opportunity to fulfill the rights of our neighbors.
